Embracing the Quiet Before Darkness
Almost Dark Studio is a personal exploration of light as it fades. I’m an amateur photographer drawn to twilight, shadows, and the moments that feel unfinished — when a place is about to change, or a story hasn’t quite closed. I work mostly in 35mm, reaching for Kodak Gold when the light calls for warmth over contrast.

Capturing the Quiet Before Nightfall
A handpicked series of frames — quiet corners and fading light, shot on 35mm film.

How I Shoot
Almost Dark is photographed on a tight budget, mostly using a Sony A7R II and a few Pentax 35mm cameras. I tend towards an 85mm lens for its quiet compression, switching to a 40–50mm when the scene asks for less distance and more presence.
Every photograph here is real, taken by me — not generated. I do use AI as part of my broader creative process, but only as a tool for reflection and support, never for making the images themselves.
